Street Photography Workshop by Tamron

Tamon and RAP Education Photography School jointly organized a Street Photography Workshop. The workshop was specially designed for students who aspire to become photojournalists and have a passion for capturing street life and street art.

Mr. Pinaki Das photojournalist and experienced trainer of RAP Education Photography School was the mentor of this workshop. First part was practical session and the venue was old nostalgic Central Kolkata. At the very beginning, Mr. Pinaki Das gave some important tips on camera basics, natural lighting tips, manual settings and auto focusing. He guided all participants continuously and shared all his experience regarding how to use golden hour, candid portraits and candid moments on the street. He advised students to keep patience to enhance artistic vision and to capture stories through the lens.

Street Photography is all about understanding the pulse and vibes of a place. If a photographer feels it then one can develop visual storytelling ability and can make culture related photo stories.

The workshop highlighted the importance of framing the perfect frame, understanding dynamic range in different lighting conditions, and creating visual rhythm through storytelling images. Participants also learned to experiment with shallow depth of field, capture striking silhouette shots, and enhance their ability to observe candid moments on the streets. This hands-on training helped students master the art of street photography while building skills essential for a successful career in photojournalism and creative photography. The workshop also focused on building camera confidence among participants, helping them achieve skill mastery in handling different shooting conditions. Through practical exercises, students improved their sense of composition and learned how to create photographs with strong visual impact. The session not only enhanced technical expertise but also encouraged creative thinking, allowing budding photographers to tell compelling stories through their lens.

After the practical session, a photo analysis session was held at the Phoolbagan branch of RAP Education Photography School. Mr. Pinaki Das analyzed the participants’ snaps and shared valuable suggestions for achieving better clicks. He also appreciated their efforts and motivated everyone towards building a brighter career in photography.
